Temperatures in Kosovo reached extreme levels today, with 41°C recorded in Han i Elezit, which may be the highest seasonal temperature recorded in the country.

In Suhareka, the maximum temperature was 40°C, while in Pristina and Prizren temperatures rose to 36°C and 37°C, respectively, reports klankosova.tv.

According to meteorologist Mendim Rugova, even hotter days are predicted, with temperatures that could reach up to 42°C, especially in the Hani i Elezit and Skopje regions.

Temperatures will drop slightly on Wednesday, but then rise again by the end of the week.

The maximum temperature reached 41C on Monday, July 21, at the IHMK station in Han i Elezit, which could be the highest temperature recorded in the country. In Suhareka, the maximum temperature was 16C by 40 p.m. Meanwhile, in Pristina, the maximum temperature reached 36C, and at Pristina airport 36.7C. Prizren recorded a temperature of 37C. In the region, at Skopje airport, the maximum temperature reached 40.6C.
According to the latest forecasts from more detailed models, even higher temperatures can be expected tomorrow. 40C can be recorded again from Suhareka and Rahovec, but also in parts of Anamorava. From Hani i Elezit, temperatures can be higher up to 42, since temperatures of 42C or 43C are predicted from Skopje. In other parts of the country, the maximums fluctuate between 37C and 39C.
On Wednesday, a slight drop in maximum temperatures is expected to occur between 33C and 37C. Then, by Friday, maximum temperatures will again increase to 38C in Pristina, and other parts, locally, will likely exceed 40C or even 41C again.
