Greece suffers painful defeat in men’s polo semifinal

    Spain edged past Greece in a dramatic penalty shootout on Tuesday to reach the men’s water polo final at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

    Greece led 7-6 with one second left in regular time but failed to hold the advantage, allowing Spain to equalize and send the match into penalties. The Spaniards converted all their shots, while Greece missed twice.

    Greece will now face Serbia in the bronze medal match. Serbia lost 18-19 to Hungary in the other semi-final.

    Meanwhile, Greece’s women’s team is set to face Hungary in Wednesday’s final, after a stunning semi-final victory over the United States.
