In Moldova, four pro-Russian parties, namely the Party of Socialists, the Communist Party, “Heart of Moldova,” and “Future of Moldova,” have announced the formation of an electoral bloc to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28, 2025.

This information was presented by the leaders of the political forces during a joint briefing: Igor Dodon, Vladimir Voronin, Irina Vlah, and Vasile Tarlev, reports Newsmaker.

“Today we are fulfilling a desire that many have awaited for years – the unification of left and center-left forces. Our goal is to create a patriotic bloc. I hope that we, as leaders, will demonstrate political maturity and put national interests above party ambitions.”

    – Igor Dodon

Irina Vlah, leader of “Heart of Moldova,” sharply criticized the current government, emphasizing that the bloc’s participants have no intention of cooperating with the PAS party in the new parliament.

“Removing PAS from power is an important task in the upcoming elections. But our mission does not end there. We are going to parliament to take responsibility for governing the country. We need to form a ruling majority and approve a new government that will stop the destruction and restore Moldova – this is what the people expect from us.”

    – Irina Vlah

At the moment, the name of the electoral bloc and the names of the candidates remain unknown. Responding to NewsMaker’s question about rumors that the idea of creating the bloc originated in Russia, Vasile Tarlev stated:

“You are a charming lady, like all our Moldovan women, and unfortunately, you believe lies. I ask you to be patient. Today we announced our intention to create an electoral bloc. As for its name and other matters, everything in its own time.”

    – Vasile Tarlev

Moldova’s President Maia Sandu expressed concern that Russia might provoke an escalation in Transnistria to destabilize the situation in the country before the elections and influence the voting results on the left bank of the Dniester.

In early July, a congress of the pro-Russian bloc “Victory” was held in Moscow, where Ilan Shor spoke, declaring that the “only salvation” for Moldova is an alliance with Russia. He also announced that the head of the Gagauzia autonomy, Evgenia Guțul, who faces up to 9 years in prison in a case concerning illegal financing of the “Shor” party, would be the first candidate on the “Victory” electoral list.

The political bloc “Victory” was created in April 2024 in Moscow and consists of four parties: “Revival,” “Chance,” “Power of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova,” and “Victory,” all of which are connected to Ilan Shor.

On July 20, Moldova’s Central Election Commission refused to register the “Victory” bloc for participation in the elections due to its ties with the pro-Russian billionaire Ilan Shor.
