Çitaku criticizes the Government: It should work for the release of people being imprisoned in Serbia

Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) MP Vlora Çitaku has demanded that the outgoing government show more commitment to the release of Kosovo soldiers being held in Serbian prisons.
According to her, the case of the arrested soldiers has become a recurring and disturbing event, while institutional actions are lacking.
“There are other soldiers being held in Serbian prisons. The outgoing government should be more active. Our diplomatic missions should be more engaged in using international mechanisms for their release,” Çitaku declared during his entrance to the Assembly on Wednesday.
She also criticized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, saying that instead of dealing with “small internal battles,” it should focus on treating detained soldiers with dignity.
“Those people are not without a homeland, and they should not be treated as such,” Çitaku said.
Yesterday, Serbian media reported that former KLA soldier Lulzim Halili was arrested in Serbia and detained for 48 hours. The Kosovo Foreign Ministry has not yet confirmed the case.
