EuroBasket 2025, co-hosted by Cyprus, Finland, Poland, and Latvia, runs from 27 August-14 September, with Greece placed in Group C alongside Italy, Spain, Georgia, Cyprus, and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Greece will be aiming for its first EuroBasket medal since claiming bronze in 2009. The men’s national team has won two gold medals (1987, 2005), one silver (1989), and two bronze (1949, 2009) in EuroBasket history.

In addition to Antetokounmpo’s participation, NBA superstars Luka Dončić (Slovenia) and Nikola Jokić (Serbia) are both expected to feature, while France — traditionally a powerhouse — will be showcasing a revamped roster. Notably, their preliminary 18‑man squad does not include key stars Victor Wembanyama, Rudy Gobert, or Evan Fournier, likely due to rest or health considerations.
