Smuggled oil from North Macedonia, 31-year-old caught red-handed
Following the intensified work of the services of the Korça Local Directorate of Border and Migration, during the summer season, with the aim of preventing and combating cross-border crimes, a case of smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid has been cracked.
On the “Pustec-Bigëll” road axis, near the Gorica border crossing point, the Border Police services stopped the vehicle driven by citizen MP, where during the search in the vehicle a reserve tank with a quantity of oil without documents was found, reports KosovaPress.
At the conclusion of the procedural actions in this case, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Korça Local Directorate of Border and Migration arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen MP, 31 years old, resident of Korça, for the criminal offense of smuggling goods for which excise duty is paid or with full or partial suspension of customs or excise duties.
The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Korça Local Directorate of Border and Migration referred the materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, where proceedings were initiated for the criminal offense of “Abuse of office” against citizen EF, 46 years old, resident of Rogozhina, customs officer in Gorica, as he is suspected of not having conducted a search of the vehicle of citizen MP.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further actions.
