Cardenales Little League (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) has earned its way to head to Williamsport for the second consecutive year after capturing the 2025 Latin America Region Championship with a 2-0 victory over Ecuador in the championship game. The team posted a 5-0 record in the tournament, shutting out its opponents in four of the five games and a 13-6 victory over Costa Rica to round out the winning run.

Cardenales LL has represented Latin American in Williamsport three times previously, and it will be the 23rd appearance for the country, at the LLBWS, the sixth-most appearances among international teams. During its visit in 2024, Cardenales LL finished the tournament in third place with a 5-2 overall record, falling only to Japan in the early round of the tournament and Chinese Taipei in the International Championship game.

The first-round matchups for the 2025 LLBWS were announced on June 11 during National Little League Week. Latin America will square off in the tournament opener against Puerto Rico on Wednesday, August 13, at 1 p.m. at Volunteer Stadium following the event’s Opening Ceremonies.

The 2025 Little League Baseball World Series is set to kick off on Wednesday, August 13, with the World Series Championship game scheduled for August 24.
