Senior US State Department official, Brendan Hanrahan, held a meeting with the leaders of the Serbian List, as part of his visit to Kosovo.

The Serbian List delegation was led by Zlatan Elek.

After the meeting, through a statement, this political entity announced that they had had an “open and constructive” conversation with the American diplomat.

In the published statement, the Serbian List alleged “increasingly pronounced institutional violence against the Serbian people in Kosovo”, accusing local and international institutions of a lack of adequate response.

According to them, “the unilateral actions of Kosovo institutions further worsen the security situation and threaten the fundamental rights of Serbs.”

Following this, the Serbian List demanded an urgent de-escalation of the situation and a clear reaction from the international community.

They also reiterated the demand for the formation of the Association of Serb-Majority Municipalities, calling this an “international obligation of Pristina that has been ignored for years.”

According to this party, international guarantees are necessary to protect the rights of Serbs in Kosovo, claiming that local institutions often act in violation of relevant regulations.

During his stay in Kosovo, Hanrahan also met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti as well as representatives of opposition parties.
