A bomb explosion has targeted the home of the president of the Greek association of prison guards. The blast occurred early Saturday morning in Sykies, a suburb of Thessaloniki. The prison guard was unharmed, but two people suffered minor injuries from shattered glass. The explosion damaged three apartment buildings, shattering windows and collapsing a shared wall. A witness reported seeing a man walking nearby before the explosion, police said. Two police officers, speaking on condition of anonymity, said they are focusing their efforts on criminal gangs rather than terror groups. The Organized Crime Unit is leading the investigation.
