North Macedonia is under the red phase due to extreme heat.

Today temperatures have reached up to 43 degrees.

This will break the record set in 2007, when 42.8 degrees were recorded. Health authorities recommended staying in air-conditioned rooms from 13:00 PM to 17:00 PM, drinking plenty of water, limiting activity during the hottest hours, and following other guidelines.

The heat wave in Macedonia is a result of a combination of a stable anticyclone, prolonged drought, climate trends and heat waves in the Balkan region.
