CLEVELAND, Ohio — The 13th International Ohio Burlesque Festival will be Thursday, August 7, to Saturday, August 9, at Beachland Ballroom & Tavern in Cleveland. Using the theme “Art is Resistance,” this year’s festival will showcase more than 70 entertainers from around the world.
The event will feature an array of performances including burlesque, drag, live singers, vaudeville, variety acts, aerial performances, and sideshow entertainment.
The festival kicks off Thursday, Aug. 7, with a rock and roll opener, featuring Cleveland’s own Heather & Lace alongside international sensation Queerly Femmetastic from Brooklyn, described as “Grand Master Funk and a force of fabulousness.”
Friday’s All-Stars Showcase will be headlined by Chicago’s Android Allure, fresh from the Tournament of Tease at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender in Las Vegas. Joining the lineup are Burlesque Top 50 legend Bella Sin from Cleveland and Shimmy La Roux, a Playboy Playmate and international showgirl from Chicago.
A Saturday Night Gala Spectacular closes the festival with multi-award-winning performer Nami Flare from Florida and headliner Danielle Colby from Iowa, star of “American Pickers” and celebrated figure in vintage and burlesque artistry.
Tickets range from $30 to $100. The event is for audiences 18 and older.
