Netflix announced the season two renewal on Tuesday, July 29, and co-creators Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith already have big plans. The new season will take Turner far from Yosemite to an entirely new national park setting, one that feels completely different in both geography and energy.
“We’ve done Yosemite. What’s the next park that could feel different from that?” Elle told Tudum. “Each national park has such a different cultural identity, geographical identity. Being able to explore those places through the case and through Turner’s journey is what’s so fascinating.”
Mark added that the mystery will evolve with the setting. “We can make the case organic to a different kind of park, a different kind of landscape, [and] not have someone just fall off another mountain,” he said.
