GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – New figures from the Colorado Tourism Office showed visitors contributed millions to the state’s economy.

The exact dollar amount visitors contributed in 2024 was more than $28 billion. That number is $1 million more than what visitors contributed in 2023.

The annual report provided by an independent agency also found the tourism industry supported over 188,000 jobs across the state. Over 4,000 additional jobs were added last year.

The report showed most overnight guests took part in outdoor and entertainment activities followed by sporting and cultural events.

Data collected from the first part of this year found competition from other states and uncertainty on federal policies could be putting some pressure on Colorado’s tourism industry.
