Visa brings Apple Pay to Kosovo – A safer way to pay with iPhone and Apple Watch

Pristina, 29 July 2025 – VISA, the global leader in payment technology, has officially announced the launch of Apple Pay for its customers in Kosovo – a modern, secure and private way to pay, eliminating the need to hand over a card, touch physical buttons or use cash. Apple Pay uses the power and security of iPhone to protect every transaction.

Users can make contactless payments by holding their iPhone or Apple Watch near a payment terminal. Every Apple Pay transaction is securely verified through Face ID, Touch ID or the device’s passcode, as well as a unique dynamic code for maximum security. Apple Pay is now accepted in supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, cafes, taxis, shops and other locations across Kosovo.

Apple Pay also offers the ability to make quick and easy purchases in apps and websites through Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac – without having to create accounts or constantly enter shipping or payment details. The service can be used for food ordering, transportation, parking and much more – even for in-app payments on Apple Watch.

Security and privacy are at the heart of Apple Pay. Card numbers are not stored on the device or on Apple servers. Instead, a Unique Device Account Number is created, which is securely stored on a chip called a Secure Element, designed to store payment data to the highest industry standards.

Apple Pay is very easy to set up. On iPhone, simply open the Wallet app, tap the + symbol, and follow the steps to add your Visa card (debit or credit). Once added to your device, the card is ready to use immediately. Users continue to enjoy all the rewards and benefits that Visa cards offer.
