Disturbing figures: Six cases of domestic violence within 24 hours in Kosovo

Disturbing figures of domestic violence cases have been reported to the Kosovo Police over the past 24 hours in Kosovo.

Two of these cases occurred in Gllogovc/Glogoc, one in Obiliq/Obiliq, one in Gracanica/Graqanica and two in Gjakova/Djakovica.

Cases reported to the Police:

Gllogoc / 28.07.2025 – 18:50. The Kosovar male suspect has been arrested on suspicion of having committed the above-mentioned crime against the Kosovar female victim. By decision of the prosecutor, the suspect has been taken into custody.

Gllogoc / 29.07.2025 – 18:30. Two Kosovar complainants have reported that the Kosovar male suspect has exercised violence against them. The prosecutor has also been informed about the case, while police units are investigating the case.

Obiliq / 29.07.2025 – 17:00. It was reported that the Kosovar male suspect committed the above-mentioned crime against the Kosovar female victim. In consultation with the prosecutor, the suspect was released in regular procedure after being interviewed. 

Gracanica / 29.07.2025 – 21:00. The suspects (a male and a female) Kosovar, are suspected of having physically attacked each other after a verbal argument. They refused medical treatment. In consultation with the prosecutor, the suspects were released in the regular procedure after being interviewed.

Gjakova / 29.07.2025 – 20:20. The Kosovar male suspect has been arrested after he, while intoxicated, is suspected of having committed the above-mentioned crime against the Kosovar female victim. The suspect has been taken into custody by decision of the prosecutor. 

Gjakova / 29.07.2025 – 20:20. Three suspects, two men and one Kosovar woman, have been arrested on suspicion of having committed the above-mentioned crime against the Kosovar female victim. By decision of the prosecutor after the interview, the two male suspects were taken into custody, while the female suspect was released in a regular procedure. A licensed pistol with two magazines and 69 cartridges was confiscated from the suspect, which he is suspected of having exposed to the victim.
