Simulated urban close air support training exercises will be performed by U.S. Marines and NATO allies on August 5th and 6th in Swansboro. Officials say these exercises are critical for ensuring the readiness and effectiveness of military personnel in real-world scenarios.
The public may see military personnel in tactical gear during these two days, and may also notice military aircraft in the skies over Swansboro.
The Marines have made arrangements with local government officials and emergency services to make sure that all activities are conducted safely and with as little impact on the local community as possible.
