The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timço Mucunski, has welcomed the decision of the United States of America to significantly reduce tariffs on North Macedonian products – from 33 to 15 percent.
According to Mucunski, “this step represents an important incentive for deepening economic cooperation between the two countries and a clear signal for building a more ambitious trade partnership.”
He stressed that although talks on a comprehensive tariff liberalization agreement are still ongoing.
“This decision is concrete evidence of our shared commitment to opening new opportunities for our exporters, companies and the economy as a whole. We remain fully committed to finalizing the agreement, which will remove other trade barriers and create long-term benefits for both economies. I am convinced that this lays the foundation for a new chapter in North Macedonia-US economic relations,” said Mucunski.
