AUGUSTA, Maine — Grand juries in Cumberland County and Androscoggin County indicted two 18-year-olds and two minors in July for arson, burglary, and theft after a months-long, joint investigation between the state fire marshal, Yarmouth Police Department, and several other agencies, according to a news release from the marshal.

James Akers, 18, from Portland and Jacob Kaiser, 18, of Biddeford along with two minors were arrested and charged for incidents of arson, burglary, and theft at multiple locations, including the former Elan School property in Poland and two homes in Yarmouth.

Akers and Kaiser were arrested and released on bail until court appearances later this year. The status of the two minors is unknown. Neither is being named because they are juveniles.
