Macron talks with Vučić: We spoke in detail about the situation in the region, we condemn any unilateral action that endangers the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he had just spoken with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, with whom he said he also discussed the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and “details” of the situation in the Western Balkans.
Writing in Serbian, Macron said he reiterated to Vucic his “conviction” that “Serbia’s European future is its true path,” as well as his “hope” “that it will progress on that path of reforms and membership, in the spirit of dialogue.”
“We discussed all aspects of relations between Serbia and France and decided to further strengthen our cooperation,” he wrote in X.
The French president said that “we also spoke in detail about the situation in the region.”
“I emphasized the importance that France attaches to the stability, unity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as respect for the rule of law,” he said.
Macron further mentioned the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and said that he condemns any unilateral action that could jeopardize it.
“I recalled the importance of the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo and our condemnation of any unilateral action that could jeopardize it.”
With the Western Balkan countries, Macron said that “Europe will realize and embrace its destiny – in unity, solidarity and responsibility.”
