CEC provides statistics on voter registration outside Kosovo by municipality

The Central Election Commission announces that the period for the registration of voters outside Kosovo for voting by mail in the Local Elections for Mayors and Municipal Assemblies is continuing.

During the 38-day period (July 23, 2025 – August 29, 2025), all citizens of Kosovo living abroad may apply to register as voters outside Kosovo. The application for registration must be individual and can be made:

1. through the CEC electronic platform https://diaspora.kqz-ks.org ose
2. by mail by sending the application to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo.

Until today (Monday, August 4, 08:00) via the electronic platform https://diaspora.kqz-ks.org 1,971 applications for registration to vote by mail were received, of which 1,402 were approved, while 569 were rejected.

In most rejected cases, applicants have not submitted one of the documents proving their address outside Kosovo (identification document stating the residential address, confirmation of address from the local authority, rental contract, utility bill, document issued by a bank or insurance company, document proving the address of the person with whom they are temporarily staying, other proof of residence for specific cases (hotel reservation, dormitory, etc.)).

According to the procedure, incomplete applications, which lack supporting documents, will be rejected. The CEC regularly and personally informs rejected applicants of the reasons for the rejection of their application and that they will be able to re-apply through the registration platform by attaching the necessary documents to fulfill their application in accordance with the CEC instructions. This will be possible during the registration period.
