HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) – A fire destroyed Lake Norman Charter Elementary School’s sports equipment Monday morning, according to officials.
The blaze reportedly broke out around 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, behind the school off Hambright Road in Huntersville.

Officials said the outbuilding housing the equipment was already fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire, but not before it destroyed the school’s sporting equipment. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
