Bloomberg: Trump thanks Kosovo for accepting US deportees

The American media outlet ‘Bloomberg’ has dedicated an article to the letter that US President Donald Trump wrote to the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani. US President Donald Trump thanked Kosovo for temporarily accepting migrants deported from the United States, calling it a sign of “strong cooperation,” according to the President of Kosovo.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said she received a letter from Trump, in which he also expressed a desire to deepen relations “in the coming years,” she wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday night.
“In June, Kosovo accepted a US request to temporarily shelter up to 50 third-country nationals per year who cannot return to their countries of origin. This decision faced some criticism domestically, but was presented by Pristina as a testament to the strategic alliance with Washington,” writes the American media ‘Bloomberg’,
The U.S. State Department is looking for new countries to accept deportees, in part because detention centers within the U.S. are expensive to run and often under capacity. Kosovo joins a growing list of countries participating in the Trump administration’s plan, most recently including Eswatini and South Sudan.
“According to the Migration Policy Institute, a Washington think tank, about 1.5 million people in the US have deportation orders that have not been executed, often because their countries of origin refuse to return them,” writes the American media outlet ‘Bloomberg’,
