LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -The Ingham County Health Department held its back-to-school health fair Wednesday afternoon.
The event gave families an opportunity to check on their child’s health before they head back to the classroom. Families were able to take advantage of community resources as well as different services like child and adolescent vaccinations and screenings for lead and vision.
“It’s just really important for families to be able to get their health screenings done ahead of time. Some of them are required… before kindergarten entry, the schools are going to want to make sure that those get done. So, we wanted to make sure we provided a space for families to do that easily,” said Ingham County Health Department supervisor Lisa Chambers.
Families were also able to get safety checks for their child’s car seat.
