What to argue about ? Marie Curie Skłodowska was french cuz she was Polish born in Poland but studied in France and achieved everything there.
Kopernik was German cuz he was born in Poland but German ethnicity and it doesn’t matter that he achieved everything in Poland.
I don’t get it?
Is there any push NOT to use her full name?
She was treated like shit by the French, ostracised etc. Now they want to claim her as her own. Typical French. Let’s sweep all the negatives under the carpet. Cowards
The french don’t have any successful, famous people that have greatly contributed to the humanity so they need to steal ours of course. Can’t blame them.
I was actually thinking before if we were to put people on euro banknotes Skłodowska Curie is probably one of the best possible choices.
She’s an incredible scientist, worked across the continent and is utterly unproblematic.
It’s a good thing for Poland if she’s on the note (as long as they get her name right!)
