The recent statements of the General Director of Telekom Serbia, Vladimir Lučić, about additional investments of 50 million euros in North Macedonia, are not at all good news for democracy or for the sovereignty of the country. They are clear evidence of the systematic expansion of the geopolitical project of the so-called “Serbian World” – with direct support from official Belgrade and the comfortable silence of Skopje. This is how the Alliance for Albanians has reacted, according to which, North Macedonia is quickly turning into an economic and media colony of Serbia, without any institutional reaction, without public debate and without any strategic vision for the protection of state interests.

“What happened in Montenegro is happening here too, before our eyes, the capture of the telecommunications market, the occupation of the media space, and the construction of critical infrastructure in the hands of companies controlled by the Vučić government. Meanwhile, the VMRO-VLEN government is silent as a blind partner, dealing with illusions of reforms and directorships, while Serbian influence expands without any hindrance,” the ASH response states.

The question is clear and decisive: Is Telekom Serbia a neutral economic investor, or a political instrument of Belgrade to control the narrative and information network in North Macedonia?, continues ASH.

“Is Telekom Serbia’s money only for optical networks and mobile signal, or also for structured propaganda, influence building and preparation for deeper destabilizing operations in the region? For the Alliance for Albanians, this is not just an economic issue – it is a matter of state security. We demand full transparency from the government about this investment and clear confirmation whether European standards of control of strategic investments have been respected.
“We also ask the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Commission for the Prevention of Foreign Influence to thoroughly examine the involvement of Telekom Serbia in the country,” says ASH, adding that VALEN can no longer hide behind empty rhetoric about “change.”

“Government means protecting the national interest. In this case, VALEN is failing miserably. It is silent when it should react. VALEN should wake up and wake up from the sleep of power. Return to the people and publicly apologize for the disorientation and passivity that are allowing this dangerous slide of the state. The Alliance for Albanians will not be a spectator of this dangerous scenario. We will not allow North Macedonia to become an oasis of the “Serbian World” in the heart of the Balkans, nor for Albanian citizens to remain subjugated under a new wave of economic, media and political domination orchestrated by Belgrade.”
