A Maple Ridge artist is making her European debut.

Raeanne Schachter,a local painter and sculptor, has been selected to exhibit in Monaco.

The exhibition is called “Ou est Venus?” or “Where is Venus?”, and it is a powerful series exploring myth and identity.

Polish artist Beata May takes centre stage by asking this question about Venus through her art.

Schachter and five other artists – Ditte Sorensen, Juliette Lepage Boisdron, Larry Goode, Jeff Bush, and Magnus – who hail from the United States and Europe, join in the conversation as they reflect on identity, transformation, and the role of women in society.

This cross-border dialogue showcases bold perspectives bridges artistic communities, explained Schachter.

“Raeanne Schachter is an exciting, hyper-emerging voice. She brings an unapologetic energy and emotional intelligence to her work that is rare and deeply needed. Her work fits seamlessly into this dialogue around femininity, voice, and transformation—responding to Beata May’s central question with conviction and fierce individuality,” explained curator, Christina Hiltscher, on why Schachter ‘s work was selected for the exhibit.

Schachter works from her home-based studio in Maple Ridge.

She has had solo exhibits at Place des Arts in Coquitlam, Railspur Gallery at Granville Island, and at Unchained.Art Contemporary Gallery in Austin, Texas.

For those travelling to Europe over the next weeks, “Où est Vénus” runs from Aug. 9 to 22 at Espace22 in Monaco.

Participating artists: Beata May, Ditte Sørensen, Juliette Lepage Boisdron, Raeanne Schachter, Larry Goode, Jeff Bush, Magnus.
