Community Centers are hosting Open Houses throughout the week. The Heritage Center is hosting its Open House on Friday, Aug. 8 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

The Heritage Park is a 10,300 square-foot facility that is essential for the growing population of Fontana. The center offers quality programming and special events at affordable prices for its residents. The unique services offered complement the needs and lifestyles of Fontana residents from children, teens, to parents and seniors. It offers many programs including health and fitness classes, leisure activities, and self-enhancement activities.

Fontana Walks ‘8 is Great’

Steve Earle

Steve Earle is a master singer/songwriter and storyteller, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris and The Pretenders. 1986 saw the release of his record, “Guitar Town”, which hit No. 1 on the country charts. Most recently, Earle’s 1988 hit, “Coppherhead Road,” was made an official state song of Tennessee in 2023. Subsequent releases like “The Revolution Starts…Now” (2004), “Washington Sqaure Serenade” (2007), and “TOWNES” (2009) received consecutive GRAMMY Awards. His most recent album, “Jerry Jeff” (2022) consisted of Earle’s versions of songs written by Jerry Jeff Walker, one of his mentors.

Conjunto Azabache

Senior Mobile Pantry Program

Sept. 9

Fontana’s Senior Mobile Program focuses not only low-income households with adults over 60 years old and older, but also low-income households, regardless of senior status. Food distribution takes place at the Fontana Community Senior Center, 16710 Ceres Avenue. It takes place the second Tuesday of each month, from 9 to 11 a.m.
