Air Serbia saw its busiest day on record on Friday August 1 when it handed over 21.600 passengers within 24 hours. On the same day, Belgrade Airport also saw its largest volume of aircraft movements, with a total of 304 flights handled. In a statement, Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “This year is already going down in the company’s history as the most successful, with monthly results exceeding expectations. On the day we set the record for the number of passengers carried, the most popular destinations in the region were Tivat and Podgorica, while in Western Europe they were Zurich, Paris, Barcelona, Milan, and Rome. A significant number of passengers also flew to New York and Guangzhou, which is yet another proof of the high demand for long-haul flights”.
