Only one month remains for the submission of entries for both the song and the representative of Cyprus in Junior Eurovision 2025. According to our information, the interest is high, with dozens of entries already submitted. But how exactly will the selection take place?
Separate Selection for Artist and Song
CyBC (RIK) is organizing two separate processes to choose the representative and the song that will represent Cyprus in Junior Eurovision 2025.
Until Monday, September 8, interested parties can submit their entries through the special platform available on the CyBC website. However, it’s important to note that there is a separate option for young performers and a separate option for song submissions.
After that, a panel of judges, formed specifically for this purpose, will hold closed auditions (meaning they will not be broadcast on television) to first select the representative. That is, the talented child who will carry the Cypriot flag in Tbilisi.
Once the performer is selected, the next step will be choosing the song. The goal of the Cypriot delegation for this year’s Junior Eurovision is to select both a strong voice and a very good song that naturally suits the chosen performer.
Cyprus in Junior Eurovision
This will be Cyprus’s 11th participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The country’s best result in the competition is 8th place, which it achieved twice (in 2004 and 2006).
Seventeen countries have confirmed their participation in Junior Eurovision 2025, which will take place in Tbilisi on December 13.
Last year, Cyprus was represented by Maria Pissarides with the song Crystal Waters, finishing in 13th place. Despite the moderate result, the song went viral in both Greece and Cyprus.
