The alert goes into effect at 2 p.m. Friday, August 8th, and cooperative members are urged to reduce energy usage. Members enrolled in energy management programs will be affected from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Here are some things you can do to conserve electricity during theses alerts:

  • Set cooling systems to at least 78 degrees
  • Close window coverings to keep heat outside the building
  • Run dishwashers and laundry machines later in the day
  • Use microwave instead of oven to cook
  • Refrain from turning on televisions or gaming systems
  • Postpone charging your electric vehicle

Each small action can make a big difference in the demand made on the electric grid.
