A contingent of NATO reserve forces lands in Kosovo, KFOR: The Scots Guard will stay temporarily for training

KFOR has announced that a contingent of NATO reserve forces has begun temporary deployment in Kosovo. The announcement also states that these soldiers will conduct a series of training activities with KFOR units., writes Gazeta Express.
KFOR also added that the first contingent, which is a light mechanized infantry regiment from the United Kingdom, has already arrived in Kosovo and will remain temporarily for training purposes.
“This activity is conducted regularly and aims to improve KFOR’s operational readiness and its ability to respond effectively to relevant security developments,” the announcement states, among other things.

In accordance with existing procedures, a contingent of NATO reserve forces has begun temporary deployment in Kosovo, to conduct a series of training activities with KFOR units.
The first contingent of the Scots Guards, a light mechanized infantry regiment from the United Kingdom, has arrived in Kosovo and will remain temporarily for training purposes.
This activity takes place regularly and aims to improve KFOR’s operational readiness and its ability to respond effectively to relevant security developments.
This commitment is carried out in accordance with KFOR’s long-standing UN mandate – based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all citizens and communities living in Kosovo, as well as to guarantee freedom of movement, at all times and in an impartial manner, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in accordance with their respective roles as responsible for security matters.
