Well, this is sad. But its been in the works for at least a year, when a plan for vehicle barriers was announced. The US Border Patrol was forced to reassure alarmed American farmers that the vehicle barriers wouldn’t in the road but would mark the US/Canada border.
So not the fault of Trump, but sad nonetheless. Looking at Google Maps satellite view I can see Canadian farmers have driven into and out of their fields directly from this road. Heck, the driveway of one farmstead (just east of Coutts) intersected with the border road. I imagine the family who lives there will be anxious about the placement of the new road in Warner County.
