Political and social elites influence the creation of a climate of tension, according to publicist Kim Mehmeti, who commented on anti-Albanian calls in the North Macedonian media in the country.
“Most Macedonians, especially the elites, are anti-Albanian. Most have hatred for Albanians, and those who call for the killing of Albanians are often only expressing the wishes of political and other elites.”, said Mehmet.
According to Mehmeti, these negative messages and calls for violence do not arise by chance, but reflect the influence of the ideologies and attitudes of a part of society and its leaders.
“These are children who seek violence against Albanians, but in fact they only reflect the hatred and beliefs transmitted to them by the elites.”, He said.
