Thirteen years ago, Albanian politician from Tetovo, Arben Xhaferi, passed away. Ali Ahmeti, the leader of DUI in North Macedonia, remembered Xhaferi, saying that his absence is still felt today.

“Even though 13 years have passed since his passing, Arben Xhaferi’s absence is felt the same,” Ahmeti wrote.

Then, he recalled how during the 2001 war, “when the nation needed unity, he was there to coordinate our actions.”

Ahmeti said that even after the war, the meetings and cooperation between them did not stop.

“He often told me: ‘Consider me your big brother.’ And that’s what he was, a big brother, a wise friend, and a clear mind who loved the nation above all else.”

“Eternal memory for Arba Xhaferi,” Ahmeti wrote.

Arben Xhaferi passed away on the afternoon of August 15, 2012 at the age of 64 after a cerebral hemorrhage.
