Updated – The Kosovo-North Macedonia crossing point in Glloboqicë has reopened, about an hour after North Macedonia closed it as a result of the fire.
The fires have been localized and this point is now open for free movement of vehicles and people, the Border Management Center has announced.
The Crisis Management Center in Macedonia has also announced that the border crossing in Jazhince and the road to Kosovo have been reopened to traffic, after they were previously closed as a result of a large fire that broke out in this region.
Border crossing in Glloboqicë closed due to fires in North Macedonia
The National Center for Border Management (NCBM) has announced that the border crossing in Glloboqicë, between the Republic of Kosovo and North Macedonia, has been temporarily closed.
According to the announcement, at around 15:40, the Macedonian authorities informed the Kosovo side that, due to a large fire near the road to the village of Jazhincë and the danger it poses, by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Staff of the Republic of Macedonia, the border at this point has been closed.
Authorities call for caution and the use of other border points until the situation normalizes. /Telegraph/
