North Macedonia has launched a campaign to boost domestic agricultural production and promote the quality of Macedonian agricultural goods.

Backed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, the key objectives of the ‘Makedonsko Najdobro’ (Macedonia’s Best) campaign include increasing domestic agricultural output, fostering rural prosperity, raising awareness of the quality and authenticity of local products, and improving citizen access to Macedonian agricultural and processed products.

A digital platform, makedonskonajdobro.mk, has been created to facilitate farmer registration and promotion, showcase Macedonian production, and register sales outlets.

It features an interactive map that uses geolocation to help consumers find nearby retailers, with category and product filtering options. A mobile app is forthcoming to further ease access to information about these products.

The Ministry encourages farmers, processors, and points of sale to register on the makedonskonajdobro.mk platform.

Investment In National Economy

The campaign underscores that choosing Macedonian products is an investment in the national economy, job creation, and the country’s overall stability.

The initiative also aims to connect producers and consumers more directly, reducing the role of intermediaries who can inflate prices.

The Ministry has secured support from the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Agricultural Producers for the ‘Makedonsko Najdobro’ campaign.

For their part, grocery retailers in North Macedonia have started labelling domestic products on shelves, making it easier for consumers to identify and choose Macedonian-grown goods like apples, tomatoes, and potatoes.

According to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Cvetan Tripunovski, highlighted the importance of clear labelling to differentiate domestic products from imports, giving consumers a choice.
