34-year-old arrested and extradited from Italy to Kosovo, had avoided a 20-month prison sentence for attempted murder

A Kosovar with the initials F.Xh. was extradited from Italy to Kosovo last night.
Police announced that the 34-year-old from Mushtisht, Suhareka, was extradited based on an international arrest warrant issued by the Basic Court of Prizren. He had been sentenced to 20 months in prison for attempted murder.
“On 20.08.2025, at around 20:15, the extradition from Italy to Kosovo of the convicted F.Xh., 34 years old from the village of Mushtisht, Municipality of Suhareka, with temporary residence in Italy, was successfully carried out. The extradition was carried out based on the International Arrest Warrant issued by the Basic Court in Prizren, for the criminal offense of “Attempted Murder”, according to Article 146 in conjunction with Article 20 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (CCK). The same person was sentenced to twenty (16.02.2019) months in prison by a final judgment (dated 20) by the Basic Court in Prizren, but he avoided serving the sentence,” the announcement states.
Police said he was “surrendered by the competent Italian authorities to the “Adem Jashari” International Airport in Pristina, where he was received by police officers from the Suhareka Police Station, and then taken to the Detention Center.”
“The Kosovo Police thanks the Italian authorities for the inter-institutional cooperation and remains committed to implementing arrest warrants and legal procedures in the service of justice and public safety.”
