Nine cases of domestic violence were reported in the last 24 hours in Kosovo, seven people were taken into custody

Nine cases of domestic violence were reported in the last 24 hours in Drenas, Pristina, Gjilan, Shtime, Klina, Peja and Rahovec. In connection with these cases, seven people were taken into custody.

According to the 24-hour Police report, in Denas a man reported that he was left home by his wife.

“Gllogoc 20.08.2025 – 02:00. The male Kosovar complainant informed that he was threatened with leaving the house by his wife. By decision of the prosecutor after the interview, the parties were released in a regular procedure,” the announcement states.

In the first case in Pristina, a person was arrested on suspicion of having committed violence against his wife.

“Pristina 20.08.2025 – 01:00. The Kosovar male suspect has been arrested after he had exercised violence against his wife. By decision of the prosecutor, the suspect has been taken into custody,” the Police announced.

Meanwhile, in the second case in Pristina, a person reported being insulted and threatened by his brother.

“Pristina 20.08.2025-23:20. The Kosovar male victim reported that he was insulted and threatened by his brother. By decision of the prosecutor, the suspect, after being interviewed, is released in the regular procedure,” the announcement states.

A person was arrested in Gjilan after allegedly physically attacking his daughter.

“Gjilan 20.08.2025 – 18:10. The Kosovar male suspect has been arrested, after he physically attacked his daughter. The victim has received medical treatment. By decision of the prosecutor, the suspect has been taken into custody,” it further states.

A person has been arrested in Godanc i Epërm, Shtime, after allegedly physically attacking his wife.

“Village Godanc i Epërm, Shtime 20.08.2025 – 12:00. The Kosovar male suspect has been arrested, after he physically attacked his wife. The victim has received medical treatment. By decision of the prosecutor, the suspect has been taken into custody,” the announcement states.

A person was also arrested in Klina after allegedly exerting psychological violence against his two daughters – one of whom is a minor.

“Klina 20.08.2025 – 01:00. The Kosovar male suspect has been arrested after he had exercised psychological violence against his two daughters (one of whom is a minor). By decision of the prosecutor, the suspect has been taken into custody,” the Police announced.

Meanwhile, in the first case in Peja, a woman reported that she was physically attacked by her ex-husband, who was arrested and after being interviewed was released under regular procedure.

“Peja 19.08.2025-22:00. It has been reported that the Kosovar female victim was physically attacked by her ex-husband, the Kosovar male suspect. The suspect was arrested and after being interviewed by the prosecutor’s decision, he was released in regular procedure,” the announcement states.

In the second case in Peja, two suspects were arrested on suspicion of physically assaulting their family member.

“Peja 20.08.2025-23:00. Two Kosovar male suspects have been arrested, after they physically attacked the Kosovar male victim. The victim has received medical treatment. By decision of the prosecutor, the suspects are being taken into custody,” the announcement states.

Meanwhile, in Rahovec, a woman reported being attacked by the person she was living with. The suspect was arrested.

“Rahovec 20.08.2025-19:20. It was reported that the Kosovar female victim was attacked by the Kosovar male suspect, with whom she cohabited. The suspect was arrested and after the interview, by decision of the prosecutor, was sent to detention,” the announcement states.
