As part of the meeting held on August 23, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and his Swedish counterpart Paul Johnson took part in signing a letter of intent aimed at launching joint production of defense products on the territories of both countries. The information was confirmed by the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense in a Telegram channel.
The document outlines joint efforts in defense production, establishes the framework for implementing joint projects in the field of weapons and military equipment, and ensures a sustainable and mutually beneficial framework for cooperation between Kyiv and Stockholm.
In addition, the document provides for further exchange of technologies and knowledge in the production of defense products to enhance the resilience and autonomy of the defense-industrial complexes of both countries.

During the meeting, directions for cooperation in the field of military aviation were discussed, including pilot training and joint projects between Ukrainian and Swedish companies.

Prospects and Future Cooperation
The parties discussed directions to accelerate joint work in space technologies and the deployment of defense production chains, focusing on technology exchange and personnel training.
Expectations include broader integration of the defense sector, increasing the number of joint projects, and creating more resilient production chains between Ukraine and Sweden, which will enhance the defense capabilities of both countries.
As a result of this partnership, both countries aim to strengthen defense capabilities and accelerate the adoption of innovations in production, as well as deepen ties between scientific centers and defense-industrial sector enterprises.
