Political parties must urgently find common ground to constitute Kosovo’s new Assembly. This was the appeal made by President Vjosa Osmani during an interview with Polish television TVP World.
“I take this opportunity to once again call on all political parties to place the country’s interest above all else and set aside their differences. They should attempt to form a parliamentary majority coalition that will move Kosovo forward,” Osmani stated.
She emphasized that due to this political blockade, Kosovo is losing European Union projects and missing opportunities with the new U.S. administration, for which work has already been undertaken.
“Most agreements must go through the Assembly for ratification and to the Government for implementation. The people of Kosovo need an effective government with full authority,” Osmani said.
Speaking to the television outlet within the framework of the European Forum in Alpbach, Osmani also discussed the growing influence of the “triangle of evil” (Russia, China, Iran) and highlighted the most pressing challenges facing the country.
“I often say that when we see malicious forces like Russia, China, and Iran—this triangle of evil—trying to influence the Western Balkans, they don’t do it out of charity, but because they have a certain strategic interest,” she noted.
According to her, Serbia remains Kosovo’s biggest problem. Citing the European Observation Mission, she said it has been proven that Serbia, “with the help and support of Russia,” interfered in Kosovo’s most recent parliamentary elections.
