LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Get ready to do some good before you gobble!
Registration is now open for the 37th annual Lynchburg Turkey Trot.
It’s the largest 5K in the area and a staple in the community, with all proceeds going towards Humankind.
The nonprofit helps families across Virginia through various programs, which is critical during the holiday season.

“I think it’s incredible that we have 4,000 from our own community that want to support and do good in the community they live in, and I think that’s really what’s most important to us,” said Race Director Keeley Cordingley.
Keeley said race day preparations are already underway.
“We are getting excited, we are in design right now for our t-shirt,” Keeley said. “Everybody loves our race day shirt, so excited to reveal that, we designed our stocking caps, which will be revealed very soon, and we’re lining up the vendors, so we’re hard at work.”
The race will be held outside EC Glass on Thanksgiving morning. You can register for the race HERE.
