    Atlantic City will host its first Black Business Expo this week.

    The inaugural event, which is free and open to the public, takes place 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 26 at the All Wars Memorial Building.

    It is being hosted by the city’s Department of Economic Development, with support from Mayor Marty Small Sr.

    The expo will include:

    • Dozens of local Black-owned businesses showcasing products and services
    • The opportunity to connect with business owners
    • Panel discussions and networking opportunities with both veteran and emerging entrepreneurs
    • Assistance with Small Business Micro-Business Grant applications
    • A historical exhibit curated by Ralph Hunter, highlighting the history of Black businesses in Atlantic City
    • Participation from the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, as well as the African American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ and DE

    The city said the expo is part of its recognition of August’s National Black Business Month, which acknowledges the impact of Black-owned businesses on local and national economies.
