Mucunski – Kos: Commitment and support for the country’s European integration path confirmed

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timço Muçunski, today, as part of his two-day working visit to Brussels, met with the European Commissioner for Enlargement of the European Union, Marta Kos.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Mucunski and Kos emphasized the strong support for the enlargement of the Union, both from member states and from the citizens of North Macedonia, which is also confirmed by the findings of the latest “Eurobarometer”.
The meeting welcomed the Government’s reformist approach, particularly the fulfillment of obligations from the reform process and the implementation of the Growth Plan. Minister Mucunski stressed that reforms related to European integration remain high on the domestic political agenda, with a strong focus on the rule of law and the fight against corruption.
The Minister expressed gratitude for the personal commitment of European Commissioner Kos to the accession process, especially in the context of her participation and support at the Growth Agenda Summit, which was recently held in Skopje.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the country’s recent membership in SEPA, as well as the initiative to gradually remove roaming charges between the Western Balkan countries and the European Union. A decision on this initiative is expected in early 2026, as part of the benefits of gradual integration into the Union.
The meeting also discussed current regional and global developments, confirming mutual support for Ukraine and the commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace as soon as possible.
