Security expert, Bedri Elezi, in a statement for Kosova Live, commented on the case of the arrest of the Croatian pilot and his Serbian girlfriend from Mitrovica, Ana Murganić, suspected of espionage.

According to Elezit, it is worrying that the Croatian authorities and Europol are handling the investigation, while Kosovo institutions are remaining silent. “It is very necessary to know whether the KIA had information about this case. The Croatian authorities are doing most of the work, while the KIA and other institutions in Kosovo seem to be only receiving salaries. If they had even a little information, they would have held a press conference, especially Minister Sveçla. The silence makes us believe that they are fully informed,” said Elezit.

He added that it is problematic that Croatia has not mentioned any cooperation with Kosovo on this case, even though the criminal offense is suspected to have been committed against Kosovo.

It is worth noting that a few hours later than this statement, a reaction came from the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, who denied that Murganić had any connection with the Prime Minister’s Office and emphasized that Kosovo institutions are cooperating with Croatian authorities.
