(LEARFIELD) LIMASSOL, CYPRUS  – Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 31 points as Greece beat Italy 75-66 in FIBA play Thursday.

The former NBA MVP and champion had his way with the Italian defense in scoring 31 points.

Antetokounmpo also grabbed 7 rebounds while dishing out 2 assists and swiping 1 steal.

Giannis also helped lead a stifling Greek defense, which held Italy to just 36% from the field and 26% from the three point line.

Greece can expect another packed house in their second game as they face off against hosts and neighbors Cyprus.
