The Association of Prosecutors of the Republic of Kosovo has expressed concern about the public statements of the Member of the Assembly of Kosovo, Fitore Pacolli, addressed to the Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Office, Blerim Isufaj.
“The Association of Prosecutors of the Republic of Kosovo expresses concern about the public statements of the Member of the Assembly of Kosovo, Ms. Fitore Pacolli, directed at the Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Office, Mr. Blerim Isufaj,” the reaction states.
The Association emphasizes that such statements are untrue and undermine trust in justice. “The Association emphasizes that such writings and statements are untrue and unfounded, and undermine the integrity of the prosecutorial system as well as citizens’ trust in justice,” the Association stated.
Furthermore, the Prosecutors’ Association has emphasized that political attacks on prosecutors are unacceptable. “The Association underlines that any attempt to target prosecutors through political statements is an attack on the independence of the Prosecution institution and, as such, is unacceptable,” it further states.
The reaction comes after MP Pacolli’s post where she wrote: “Breaking News: Blerim Isufaj establishes an NGO which is publicly launched with the first black slogan in Pristina: ‘Albin surrender to the prosecutor’.”
