In 2022, Andrea represented North Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin with the song “Circles”, which had won the national selection, Za Evrosong.

However, before the contest began, an incident brought heavy criticism upon her. Specifically, during the “Turquoise Carpet” event, Andrea appeared to throw her country’s flag on the ground, something that the national broadcaster MRT condemned as “desecration of the national symbol, punishable by law.”

The broadcaster even considered the possibility of withdrawing Andrea from the country’s Eurovision participation just before the Semifinal!

The singer immediately apologized, explaining that she simply wanted to hand the flag to a member of the delegation and had no intention of causing offense. In the end, the song failed to qualify for the Grand Final, finishing in 11th place in the Second Semifinal, with 76 points.

Today, through her personal TikTok account, the singer announced the upcoming release of a song about the “cancel” of Eurovision 2022, with comments ranging from supportive to critical.
