Cambodia plans to launch its first wind power plant—a 150 MW project—in Mondulkiri province by 2026. An agreement has already been signed with Hong-Kong based HK Oasis Power for the development of this facility, which is expected to come online in 2026. Another notable initiative is a 100 MW wind park being developed by Singapore-based The Blue Circle in partnership with Cambodia’s Royal Group.
In October 2024, the government announced that wind power would be integrated into the national grid by 2026, with six wind projects currently under development, totalling 900 MW of capacity. In December 2024, an implementation agreement was signed with Southeast Asian renewable developer Leader Energy for a 150 MW onshore wind project, also in Mondulkiri province. This project is scheduled for completion by 2027.
These developments align with Cambodia’s broader energy goals: increasing the share of renewables in power generation to 70% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
