Emma Reynolds MP has been appointed Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Her appointment, prompted my Deputy Prime Minister Angela Raynor’s resignation on Friday (05/09/25), comes as part of a broader cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening the government’s focus on environmental sustainability, rural development, and food security.
Reynolds, the Member of Parliament for Wycombe, is expected to spearhead initiatives addressing climate change, agricultural reform, and rural economic growth.
In her first statement following the appointment, Reynolds said she was “honoured to take on this vital role at such a pivotal time for our environment and rural communities.”
