Turnover in Greece is soaring for Temu, Shein

The annual turnover in Greece of Chinese online retail platforms Temu and Shein ranged between 529 and 627 million euros last year in total, an amount corresponding to almost 40% of all turnover of e-commerce in Greece, per the calculations of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE). These figures are expected to rise by 50% this year.

According to the latest report of the most popular Chinese platform in Greece (published on August 31), Temu’s average monthly users rose to 2.7 million in the first half of 2025, up from 2.4 million users at the end of 2024 and 2.1 million average monthly users in the middle of last year.

Moreover, the average monthly users of Shein in Greece exceeded 2.7 million, according to the company’s latest transparency report, which was published on September 1 and concerns the first half of this year. In the second half of 2024, the average monthly users of Shein in Greece came to 2.65 million.

The number of users of rival AliExpress is smaller, but not negligible. In April-June, the average monthly users of AliExpress in Greece were 1.64 million, slightly higher than the 1.59 million users in October 2024 – March 2025.
